Have a Florida nature/nature travel question?

Please read this entire page before submitting a question.

EcoFlorida: Your Guide to Exploring Natural Florida likes to help people make the most of their time in Florida's natural areas -- and to encourage responsible use of our natural areas. If you have a question about Florida nature or nature travel, we'd like to answer it on the EcoFlorida blog to aid you and others who may have the same question.

Please help us in return by reading and following these steps:

Step 1: Search the EcoFlorida Web site first

We get a lot of questions that are already answered somewhere on the EcoFlorida Web site, so please use the sitemap or do a search first.

Please also check our list of frequently asked questions.

Step 2: Check our list of questions we don't answer

We don't answer questions like the ones listed below:

  • Camping or lodging recommendations ("Tell me where I can camp," or "Where can I stay in a cabin?"). Instead, try a campground or lodging directory.

  • Directions ("How far is it from here to there?" or "How do I get there?"). Instead, look at a map or use mapping software.

  • Highways ("I have a question about Alligator Alley," or "What exit number do I look for?"). Instead, contact the Florida Department of Transportation.

  • Festivals/events ("Will there be festivals or other events going on when I get there?"). Instead, search for an area's tourism or chamber of commerce Web site.

  • Reservations and pricing ("Can you reserve accommodations for me?" or "How much will my trip cost?"). Instead, contact a travel agent.

  • Real estate/moving to Florida ("Where is a good place to move to?" or "What can you tell me about the area?"). Instead, contact a real estate agent.

  • Working with animals ("Can you tell me how to get a job working with animals?"). Instead, do a job search or work with a career counselor.

  • Pets or captive animals ("What do I feed this animal?"). Instead, contact your veterinarian or a pet store.

  • Fishing or hunting ("Do I need a fishing license?"). Instead, contact a fishing or hunting Web site like the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Again, we regret that we can't make personalized campground/cabin/lodging recommendations anymore, so please don't ask us where to camp or stay. If you want a detailed trip report, please see our itinerary service.

Step 3: Send your question

If your question can't be answered through these other methods, then please ask. Please note that we reserve the right to refrain from responding to questions submitted, especially those that don't pertain to Florida nature or nature travel and those that are rude. Also, if we e-mail you a response and your mail gets bounced back to us because

  • your e-mailbox is full
  • you provided an incorrect address
  • your spam filter won't allow the message to go through
then we cannot respond. Thanks!
